Severe obesity raises risk of poor H1N1 outcome (Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy)

Mar 17, 2010 (CIDRAP News) – Severe obesity makes it almost five times more likely that adults infected with the H1N1 pandemic influenza virus will be ill enough to be hospitalized, and also more likely that they will die under certain conditions, according to new research by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Menifee school district hosts H1N1 clinic for kids under 10 (The Press-Enterprise)

The Menifee Union School District will host an H1N1 flu vaccination clinic from 3 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Evans Ranch Elementary School. The clinic is only for children under age 10 who received an initial dose of the vaccine during school district clinics on Feb. 1, 2 and 3. Health officials are recommending that children under 10 get a second dose of the vaccine.
